Abstract:

Counties are the key link between urban and rural areas in China’s new-type urbanization system, In the process of urbanization led by big cities, the urbanization development of counties faces dilemmas. This study was guided by agglomeration theory and used the agglomeration index as the analytical framework to measure the agglomeration level of 52 counties in Zhejiang Province. The research results show that the new-type urbanization model led by the construction of future communities, characteristic towns, and beautiful villages has laid the foundation for a higher agglomeration level in counties in Zhejiang Province. it may provide a reference for the construction of new-type urbanization with the county as an important carrier in the central and western regions.
